The silent playback bug with Virtual Singer tracks using any form of microtonal accidentals, including the original Turkish Commas, is still happening! Going back to 9.9.2d (most recent past version I still have an install file for).

Harmony Assistant is virtually useless to me in its current state. Microtonal Virtual Singer is well over 90% of what I use it for.

At least now it doesn’t show additional tracks in the Mixer during playback which aren’t there when not playing, but it does sometimes say “Computing # human voices…” where “#” is twice the number of Virtual Singer voice staves in the score. It should be equal to the number of VS staves. For example, most of my music, being for quartets, has 4 such tracks, and when I tell it to Play, it says “Computing 8 human voices…”.

Hello,

Installed HA 9.9.5 hoping that (my) earlier problems was finally solved!
First start, opening some existing files, showed all fine - also my whole program configuration, screen, palettes, etc. was OK.
That was yesterday night.

Today opening again to go on working - the whole setup was away. Looked like I was a new first-time user!!

Note: I have several years used an alternative location for 'Myriad documents', 'GM Digits' and 'FFmpeg cmd' - without problems.
Could this be a reason for 9.9.5 problems?

So, again back to 9.9.2d

Most certainly!

Have you checked for any difference in Configuration>Global Setup>Paths between your two versions.

A new update should not change this, unless you have inadvertently  downloaded the 64-bit version with a 32-bit license.

Did you get an error message about an illegal shut-down and asking whether you wanted to clear files?

I checked/compared all 'Global Setup's and found no problems.
The 'Path' entry was the same (alternative), and download with a correct license, 64-bit.

The shut-down yesterday (the first time-opened 9.9.5) was done as normal from File menu's 'Quit' - Today's opening resulted as described in a quite new setup ... without explanation!

If you lose this registration file (in Help>Open "Myriad Preferences" folder), you will get the symptoms you describe - loss of personal configuration.

If you have a satisfactory working configuration, make a backup of this file.

Otherwise look-up your original registration or ask Myriad for it.

Edit:  Is your 992 32-bit?   Have you successfully used a non-trial 64-bit version?

With 995, did you come across any restrictions (save limitation etc) that might indicate a license problem?
Did you have trial version RC1 on disk and have not removed it?

I have a registration file 'Harmony.reg' from june 2019, will make a backup.

9.9.2d is 64-bit and have worked perfect since spring 2020.
Have tried 9.9.3 earlier this year, but with some problems (described in earlier post by me), and went back to 9.9.2d.

In the first check/work with 9.9.5 last night there was no problems at all (save/save as etc. OK). And no trial versions, only the finished version released 22.12.2021.

Now I have returned version and files to 9.9.2 - have to work there now. Maybe I'll try the new version again later

Probably, Santa Claus' gremlins have decided that you have been naughty this year and do not deserve a Christmas present.

If you make a New Year resolution to be good and perform a new download in the New year, it will undoubtedly work.

Hi!
Did you installed in the same folder than previous HA version ?

On Windows, there is a folder called ACAMREF
(%APPDATA%\ACAMPREF) I frequently backup
I changed the GMDigit and Myriad Docs folders, and I didn't notice any problem with HA 995.

For info - I'm using 64bit (64 licensed) v9.9.5 on W11 (new clean install) to notate some SATB+piano music with lyrics. Nothing extraordinary but whilst editing/adding notes and slurs, HA has crashed several times. Just collapsed ! no messages going down or evidence after restart. I've set my auto-save to 2 minutes !

Hello,
I tried vers. 9.9.5 (also 64bit) again earlier in January! And I had several sudden crashes like deejey describes.

Only remember one situation: When trying to change 'Time signature' to 12/8 it was placed in the end of preceeding bar, after the last notes... and after a few seconds HA chrashed! There were different other situations.

So for some weeks I have been back to vers. 9.9.2

I see that version 9.9.5c is available for download, but no changelog for it has been posted in What’s New. What all has been fixed in it? Was an a or b publicly released?

Hi, I don't remember what's new between 9.9.5 and 9.9.5c.
If you still have 9.9.4, wait for next subversion where there are several score graphical bug fixes.
If you already have 9.9.5, then go for 9.9.5c as it already fixes some things.

Thanks. The main issue I’m concerned with is Virtual Singer being completely silent on staves containing any Turkish Commas for microtonal tuning. This has been an issue since 9.9.4. I’ve gone back to 9.9.2d for now and am not downloading another version until this is resolved. It’s almost the only thing I use Harmony Assistant + Virtual Singer for.
