Linux Install



Please follow carefully these instructions:

1 If the download doesn't start automatically:

Download the installable archive


2 Copy the file in an easily reachable folder

For instance, open the download folder, then drag and drop the archive ( ) to your "Documents" folder

3 Change permissions

Right-click the archive  and, from the properties window, activate the "Execute" permission for this file

4 Ensure that your can run scripts from the file explorer
I they can't, the script will be loaded in a text editor (gedit, mousepad...) and it won't work, the computer even being unresponsive for a while.

So, edit your file manager settings from its main menu.
Usually, from the "Settings" or "Preferences" menu option in the "Behavior" tab, activate "Ask" or "Enable script execution".

For instance, on Ubuntu 17.04:


(If it's not possible on your system, open a terminal on the folder that contains the .run and enter
    bash
then skip to step 7.)

5 Double-click the installable archive

6 If you are asked for it, select "Run in Terminal"

7 Follow the instructions, and let the program install additional libraries if required ('Y' or 'A' key). The program should run automatically once installed.

From then you should be able to run the application either from the system application menu, or through the icon that should have appeared on your desktop, if this feature is available in your version of Linux.

8 (Optional) If the application can't start:

Ensure that it's not already running:
Terminal: ps -ux
find the application process id if it exists

If necessary, kill the process through
kill <process id>

Run the application through:
"/usr/bin/"
and check the error messages that appear on the console.
