Bonjour

Yes, it does seem to be a font issue. But I don't think I have any control over fonts. The system has been working for 30-40 users without incident since the Plug-In was discontinued.

We have 2 Macbooks and 1 iMac.
All of them are fairly old but all of them are running the latest macOS (10.13.2).

Only the iMac, where the Myrweb files were created, do all the songs look good.

On the others and on my iPhone 5s (running iOS 10), some songs are garbled (either boxy or some other way, like Geo's picture) and some are OK.

Another experiment.

On my Macbook Pro, same operating system and same version of Harmony Assistant (9.8.0) as the iMac:

I opened that Bawo Soprano file and exported it to Myrweb and it looks fine.

So I now have two tabs open at the same time in the same browser (Safari 11.0.2) on viewing two Myrweb files created by the same version of Harmony - one is boxy, one is fine.

I just went to my iMac and opened the new file over our LAN and both look fine, except that the music page image of the new file is larger on both machines.

C'est très étrange.

Problem is alleviated, if not quite solved.

On the machine that created the myrweb files I restored everything I could find involving myrweb to the default settings, and now a file produced by that machine is readable on all my other machines.

I had made only very simple changes, such as centering the music on the web page so that it matched the title, but I must have done something else accidentally.

Is there a way to delete this whole thread from the Forum? I am embarrassed.

I thought that this thread had become completely useless but I think I see what went wrong - there may be a lesson here.

I went back and compared the myrweb "HTML setup" in the advanced section of the myrweb settings and the differences much greater than I could imagine. There were serious differences that I don't even understand - there is no way that I could have made those changes, even by accident.

My hypothesis is that Myriad made changes in the HTML setup from version to version and the fact that I had changed the setup prevented Myriad's changes from taking effect when I upgraded.

If this explanation has any credibility at all then the lesson is:

DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE MYRWEB SETTINGS!

(Since I already deleted my original post I'm attaching a picture of one of the bad pages, so that reader can see what this is about.)

I take it back. Restoring myrweb defaults fixed one of my many files, but not others. I'm back where I started.

A petite dose ça va à peu près.

I have two computers, an iMac and a Macbook Pro. They are running the same version of Harmony Assistant (9.8.0) on the same version of macOS (10.13.2), using Safari (11.0.2).

At this time, some but not all files created by the iMac are corrupted on the Macbook Pro and on our iPhones and iPad.

But files created on the Macbook Pro are OK on all of the devices, including the iMac.

I don't think installing HA on another machine would help.

The myrweb system works on iOS devices (iPhones & iPads) and Android also.

HA does not run on those systems and the idea of "installing fonts" is, to my knowledge, meaningless.

I have to conclude that my iMac is producing defective files and some devices are better at handling those defects.

But why is the iMac producing these errors? I have reset to factory defaults all of the myrweb settings that I can find. I can get by for now, I think, by doing all my myrweb work on my laptop.

Since I don't understand the reason for the problem, I fear that it will return to haunt me in the future.

***

I have to correct one thing - an important thing:

My two computers are not running the same version of Harmony - macOS does not report the build letter at the end of the version number.

The iMac that produces the corrupted files is running 9.8.0c
The MacBook Pro runs 9.8.0

Big Whoops!

Big Oups!
