Si je clique sur le lien, j'ai deux options : ouvrir avec 'torrent' et enregistrer sur le disque. Mozilla Firefox/Win XP home SP2.
Option 1 (ouvrir) Ca télécharge très vite (une fraction de seconde) puis message "terminé" et c'est tout.
Option 2 (enregisrter) Une fraction de seconde plus tard, c'est fait. Un clic sur le lien "ouvrir" et rien ne se passe.
Il faut peut-être télécharger autre chose pour que ça fonctionne ? Régler le firewall autrement ? Autre chose ?

Le principe du torrent :
Le fichier dont Didier à donné le lien est un ".torrent", c'est un petit fichier de quelques kilos qui s'ouvre avec un logiciel qui gère le Peer to Peer.
Le plus basique est BitTorrent, mais beaucoup de logiciels basés sur lui ont été créés. Le navigateur Opera 9 gère aussi les "torrents".
Donc il faut ouvrir ce petit fichier avec un tel logiciel (disons BitTorrent), qui lui va s'occuper de télécharger le gros fichier que le .torrent lui indique.
Quelle est la différence avec un banal téléchargement d'un gros fichier directement ?
Celui qui télécharge est en même temps "source" pour une autre personne qui vient télécharger.
Par exemple, j'arrive le premier, je télécharge le torrent délivré par le serveur de Myriad. J'ai téléchargé 2 Mo quand un second utilisateur arrive pour télécharger le torrent. Pour accélérer son téléchargement, il va être délivré par le serveur de Myriad, et par moi, au moins pour la partie que j'ai, il va donc télécharger ma portion de 2 Mo + une autre portion chez Myriad, en même temps si ça connexion lui permet. Ce qui fait qu'il obtient le fichier plus rapidement.
Et si un jour le fichier est ôté du serveur de Myriad, il est toujours chez moi donc on peut le télécharger.
Le "chez moi" sera indisponible si je ferme le logiciel BitTorrent.
Un téléchargement classique : 2 personnes arrivent, demandent au serveur Myriad le gros fichier en même temps, donc Myriad ne peut fournir un débit maximal pour chacun.
Alors maintenant imaginez avec 10 personnes, 100 personnes...

Il me semble bien avoir un "torrent" quelque part sur la machine, mais il ne doit pas se lancer automatiquement, comme c'est le cas de HA quand j'ouvre un fichier .myr.

Qu'en est-il si l'un des fournisseurs est infecté par un virus ou un troyen de derrière les fagots ?
Moi, le P2P, je m'en méfie comme la poisse pour ce genre de motif : je préfère poireauter, ou repasser plus tard que de me faire repasser tout de suite

Mais bien sur, c'est certainement possible de creer une fausse image iso.

I put it into Toast 7 as a data-disk Mac-PC hybrid and saved it but went no further towards copying it as I'm not sure that's how to do it. Also, it seems to want to share files and I don't know what that's all about.
Thanks for the download but any further infomation would be appreciated.

This is an iso image of the current Myriad CDROM, including Harmony 9.2, Melody 7.2, all demos files, tutorials, manuals, etc...

But in fact, what is the interest, for any user, to get this CD-Rom, either by land mail or by torrent? There are always updated versions online, so what use is there to burn a CD-Rom which will be obsolete 6 months later?

These could be valuable on a disk and the download would be a convenient way to update this library from time to time.
My new version of Opera doesn't want to download the torrent file however. I remember that the old one had a torrent client integrated. Does anyone know what I need to download to get Opera to use the torrent file?

I don't understand.
Are you saying that P2P is *safer* or that it is NOT safer?
Are you saying that you have received "altered" files with malware and so forth over P2P with torrent?
