Would someone please check these webpages? The pages involving the myriad plug-in no longer work since my ISP changed it's server though they worked before..

Hello Eddy,

I've just tried your web links. In the first page, I get a black square standing in place of the score, with a title bar that read "downloading "dover.myr" and "ended" printed in the bottom task bar.
As for the second, link, there isn't much difference. I get 4 score "pages" each of them showing the title bar, a thick black line and that's all.
Apparently, the dowloading part doesn't seem to work.

Thanks Bubu,

None of the downloading on these files seems to work and it seems to be due to the server. For a while "Crossing the Bar" worked or at least partiallly worked but even that doesn't anymore. The only change I made to the exported html was to add a "return to homepage". I wonder if redoing the entire process would help. I might try that but I'm dubious.

Good morning Eddy,

I tryed too.
Win 98SE, Thunderbird 1.5. Some small differents from the 1.0.7 notifyed by Bubu42 :

http://www.egoldmidincd.com/dover.html  show the full plug-in surface, not a black rectangle, with "downloading ... " but not "ended".
The other page give the same thing.

Some ideas :
- does your filename case on server macth exactly the one in html source ? I had that problem when moving from Oleane (not case sensitive) to Free (case sensitive).

- I tryed to download the file directly :
Through http://www.egoldmidincd.com/dover.myr I get "HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found."
Does the file exists on the right place ? Is your site redirected ? (redirection fail for some files ?)

Through ftp://www.egoldmidincd.com/dover.myr, a login and password is required.  May be a protection sheme ?

- Have you tryed (for test) to change the file extention from myr to a download enabled extention (gif or pdf per exemple) on the server and html plugin call code ?
(I don't know if a server can block some files supposed dangerous or not extension known, like gmail that block any executable file based on their extension ?)

You probably mean "Firefox"?

Yes, all browsers and platforms give similar results. I am on Mac10.4.4 and a friend is on WinXP.

Yes, I've used all lower case.

In my ftp client, the files are all shown, presumably in the right place. In fact,  "Crossing the Bar" worked till yesterday then stopped working.

Yes, the software allows for protecting the files. Or you may mean the ftp is protected. I will try that.

I think I know what you mean. No I haven't tried this but it looks like a server problem rather than html. (mp3s and MIDI files all work all right.)

I really don't think they know what they are doing after the ISP changed setups last week. I will phone them again later but they just seem unready for this change on many levels.

I finally talked to the web hosting person and it seems that they switched me from their Linux server to a Windows server. Hopefully they will switch me back today or Monday and those pages should again be working.

But I also put on a free test page at Geocities and they won't recognize .mus or .myr files at all. This is too bad since they offer much more space (2 GB!) for the same 9 dollars a month as my present server. I'm not fond of Geocities but I may switch next month and give up the myr files.

Are you still having problems or am I?  I just tried and was able to view the music scrolling, but didn't hear anything, so either they still don't have it working or this computer is shot and the plug-in didn't work.  I updated to the latest everything yesterday.

Hi Eddy,

My system: WinXP home, Internet Explorer 6.
The first page everything works fine. The page shows up, Virtual singer starts its voice calculation and a few seconds later the song beginns to play.
The second page:  "error 404  The page you requested is unavailable" appears

Hi Cal and Lutz,

I've had to do much rereading of the last several posts in this thread since my last message was February 10th and I didn't bring this subject up to date. Sorry, I'd simply forgotten about it and had continued in another thread I think. So, to summarize:

I changed servers in the interrum and, though the Dover Beach page should still work with the old link, the Virtual Singer playlist had its url changed and is now:

http://www.egoldmidincd.com/vsfiles.html

Please let me know if that is what you both meant and if it works now.

But there is a new issue involving that second page and I suppose I should "fess up": I'd previously had a different setup  in this playlist in that the last file was one I'd hastily done for the last contest. I've now withdrawn the piece and, without comment,  replaced it with a large file (24270kb) of my own Gold Base version of the Glee piece which has an audio track.

This again does not work well for me in this format and the smaller files stop playing in Firefox (Mac) and are somewhat better in Safari. (Haven't tried IE yet.) But my PC friend with a cable modem reports it works all right for him. (dialup seems really impossible here and I can't fix that. I have DSL which is ok.)

So ideally, when you push play on "Crossing the Bar", the other files will download and continue to do this while that is playing.

I was trying out one of my playlists in Safari and got the message to upgrade the plug-in. I did and now the pages barely work or don't at all. The regular plug-in pages do work though they've changed appearance. Am I supposed to change the html on the playlist (jukebox) pages or change anything else?

edited: or am I supposed to regenerate these pages?

Thanks Olivier!
Maybe now I can get the plug-in to work on myspace.

Oh, I have an important matter to discuss.  I convinced one of my friends to buy Harmony Assistant, and he is having problems getting his codes from you.  Other than this, he will have to go through PayPal resolution.  Could you please have someone look into this matter?  His name is Bill Quinby.  This is making me look sort of bad in his eyes, and I would appreciate a speedy resolution.  Thanks.

There was a message a few days ago on the Melody/Harmony part of this forum. The solution was :
if your friend has an anti-spam on his e-mail (if he choosed to receive his code by e-mail), then he should look in his spam folder. We don't know why but e-mail with registration code is often considered as spam (anti-spam systems are not 100% sure, sometimes they eliminate non-spam messages)
