Title: Memo. space
Post by deejey on Oct 19th, 2017, 3:35pm
Is there an option somewhere in HA to store, within the myr file, a small Aid Memoir of self reminder notes that will serve to remind the author/editor of the file what was pertinent to the file when written/amended ? An option to enable a reminder to update the memo when closing the file would be nice too.

Thanks and sorry if this has been discussed before.

All hail the brothers Guillion

Yes DJ, use a Free Text Object (there's no extra cost).

This can be set in glorious technicolour anywhere on the page and set not to print.

Edit > Free Objects > Edit/add > Add  (at this point, a frame appears at the top-left corner of the page)

Position and size this frame where you want it.
As it will not be printed, the Horizontal offset can be set to 0 and the Horizontal size set to 2000  (this will spread across an A4 page).

Break the link to the Vertical Size by clicking on the blue padlock and set a suitable size (try 200)

Change the type of Object from Frame to Text:
(type) > Text blah blah OK

Mark the box "Don't Print" and select colour = red.

Thanks Tony.
It's not quite what I had in mind but it will suffice for the purpose. I begin to wonder whether or not a script could reveal/hide it. An entry on the Windows menu would be good.
My notations of other people's work go through iterations of correction/amendment and I lose track of why I did what !! I'm hoping that if I have enough self discipline to make notes, I'll be able to return to previous efforts and pick up the threads.  :-/

When this subject cropped-up previously, I posted that I right-click on the file to see the date last modified.

A further click on the Summary tab leads to space to write comments: a further-still click leads to Version number .

But I am still using tried-and-trusted Windows XP: later "upgrade improvements" have apparently lost this feature.

Even with this ability, I lack the self-discipline and resort to ever-longer file names!  ::)

También puede ser muy útil abrir el fichero .myr y buscar en Menú / File / Information.

You can also use the author Web site and author e-mail fields (File>Comment, title, composer) and set the info to pop up every time you open the file.

It seems that few were interested when this option was first proposed in 2005 in the Democratic Workshop  ::)

In fact, there seems to be little interest in this Forum itself.
New members may be unaware of its very existence (blue hyperlink, top-right of screen)

En fait, il semble y avoir peu d'intérêt pour ce forum lui-même.
Les nouveaux membres peuvent ne pas être au courant de son existence même (lien hypertexte bleu, en haut à droite de l'écran)
