I have a piece that has instructions (codas et.) that some of my choir do not understand.
I took out these breaks and imposed a list to make workable teach tracks.
This did not help their understanding of where they were in the piece.
I've now taken out all returns etc and made the score into one long piece which takes up far more printing space but they only have to follow the score from start to end......or so I thought.
I copied and pasted the required bars onto the new score and all the notation appears to be fine. Without the repeats however, the lyrics were incorrect.
I then went back to the original piece and copied the lyrics for each part and then pasted them into the corresponding part on the new score BUT they wouldn't play. In fact nothing would play.
I tried saving them as a lyrics text and loading that. Still nothing.
Then I realised that the lyrics were 'greyed out' and that I cannot even enter lyrics manually.
If I uncheck the 'staff with lyrics' option still nothing plays.
The only way I can get any sound is by highlighting the staves and checking the option to 'play only selected range' whilst the 'Staff with lyrics' is unchecked.
Probably something simple that I've done but it's beyond me
Help appreciated
Thanks

There is a script to rewrite a score without returns and codas
scripts>notation>breaks>flatten breaks

Thanks.
If only I'd read the instructions.
That worked perfectly in about no seconds flat.
I eventually got it to work on my own by making a new blank template and copying/pasting into that. There were no problems with lyrics or playing or anything but it was a long way round. I still don't know what caused the problem.
How can I see who wrote the script? I'd like to thank him.

Ce qui a posé le problème c'est que vous avez coché : dans "Rupture"
"forcer la liste" sans indiquer la liste mesures à jouer.

What caused the problem is that you checked, in "Edit Breaks": "Impose list", without actually filling in that list of measures to be played; see picture.

Merci JLS

Reviewing this, I found it very strange indeed to have happened that way.

I can see clearly now!
