Is it possible to change the built-in shortcut for a menu command, or to supply one, if the command doesn't already have one?
I know this is possible for the menu commands that are listed in the Configuration>Edit keyboard shortcuts dialogue box, but not all appear to be available. Are we limited only to what is possible in this dialogue?
I occasionally find myself wishing to use a certain shortcut (currently assigned in the software) for a different purpose, while giving a new shortcut to the command to which the other shortcut originally applied. At the moment, I can't see how to achieve this. Can it be done with MyrScript, perhaps?
I doubt whether it is possible to change those shortcuts through a script. Perhaps, you could give an example of a command to be re-assigned... Moreover, some shortcuts may belong to the OS (like the command+A/P/C/V shortcuts).
What prompted the question was Staves>Edit Rules, which has no assigned shortcut and to which I would like to assign the shortcut Ctrl+R.
Not only can I not find Edit Rules in the Configuration>Edit Keyboard dialogue box, but trying to assign Ctrl+R to any command yields the message "You can't define this key combination because it is used in the menu." (Ctrl+R toggles the Options>Display Ruler command.)
