I have always had problems with margins, wondering whether they were absolute (to paper-size) or relative (to printer margins). In particular, I thought H.A. was mistaken with the size of A4 (else it was different in France!). The problem is that if I set: Score \ Page mode setup \ Paper size setup \ Use the current printer setup, the paper size is 2858 (not 2975) and is then greyed-out. How do other users set their page size?

I never use the printer setup to define a paper size. First because I have two printers and their default A4 margins are not the same. Secondly because I sometimes give some to files to friends who don't have the same printer as mine. So, the first thing I do when I create a new score is set the page layout to "use instead" and choose a preset format (A4 usually) Je n'utilise jamais les paramètres de l'imprimante pour définir la taille de papier.

Always "A4" with printer margins to "0". Then I adjust all the margins with printer options in HA.

Thank you both; I never thought to set printer margins to zero - an inspirational, crazy idea! When setting margins, it must be sufficient not only for your friends' printers, but also sufficient to post to the User Space. My HP printer has a right-margin of 0.4cm. When I up-loaded a single page with a margin of 0.5cm, the page displayed as two pages, and Free Objects were not where they should be. To help beginners, here is a graphic of margin settings ...

Can anyone understand why the attached document looks OK in Page Mode, but prints with no left margin and excessive right margin? Just when I thought I was beginning to understand margins!
