Bar Number Reset

Hello, I changed the starting bar number of a score to 197, for the score is a section of a bigger composition, but now I want to reset it and the count to start with bar number 1. How to do this? I can't figure it out... Thanks for any insight, regards

With the tabs on (Ctrl+T) make a right click in the ruler above the staves, in bar#1. There is a line to change the starting number. <Edit> Second thought : you may also have changed the offset for the numbering in Staff>Bar number display (add an offset of 0)</Edit>

Please attach your file. Everyone will then be able to try their own hammer and screwdriver on it.

Strange, indeed. Let's try it another way. 1- Make sure that the bar numbering starts well in the ruler above the staves. Right click above the first bar, select the "numbering" line and set the box to zero (default). Each box of the ruler should be numbered (starting from 1) Check that some bar across the score has not been re-numbered (the numbers should follow each other by an increment of 1) 2- From the staff menu, click on the "bar number display" line and select one of the staves. In the edit box, see that the "display numbers" radio button is checked, then choose your display options (I suggest checking "only if first staff in the group" and "First bar on each line only" , as it is usually done in most scores) 3- Check the numbers : - (by default, "Display bar number every..." = 1 - "Start display from bar" = 2, unless you want the first bar to be numbered as well. - "Add an offset of" = 0. That is probably what messes things up. - "Prefix character" = empty. 4- Let's apply that to all the staves by checking the box at the bottom of the edit window. Now, it's time to click the OK button and see what happens. For now, I can't think of any other place to be verified. If necessary, you may attach the file to a post, so that I can check it on my computer.

Ok, thanks for all your suggestions. It finally worked as Bubu described (but I had to reset the second bar number too. That was the one blocking the rest of the following bars... ) Have a great day! regards
