Attachments are alloowed, but the file name has to be "pure ASCII" characters and the fille extension one of the few allowed ones, a basic protection against viruses and other stupid stuffs of the same kind.

Here is a screen copy (saved as a .gif file)...
I clicked on the "borwse"button, chose the file on my hard disk and posted.

Seriously, I understand your frustration, but frankly HA is worth the small price it costs, considering that the licence is to be paid ONCE and all updates are free of charge. I bought it 8 years ago and I'm still satisfied with the product.
If I may dive you an advice, don't buy MA, you would lose more in functionality than you would spare money, and eventually you would have to pay the full price for HA!

I think that the limitation of a single printed page is ok, but this single page must be clearly legible. Then the program may stop working after a period.
