Editing Lyrics in 9.6.2:  Crash Guaranteed!

Hello,
 
I've been using HA consistently for at least 7 years, and have never been so frustrated as I have been with all v.9.6.2 revisions.
 
About every fourth time I start to edit lyrics under a staff I get the rainbow beach ball of death and I have to force quit out of the program.  I click on the lyric line, start to move the cursor a bit using the arrow keys to edit the text, and the program just freezes.  
 
Can someone tell my why this is?  I edit choral scores all the time and can't avoid editing lyrics in this way.
 
I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8 on one machine (Intel Mac Mini) and 10.6.8 on another (Intel iMac) - the same thing happens on each, and has through the past few revisions of the program.
 
Please advise.

Note: the beachball lasts a LONG time - it's not just "thinking for a bit".

I use OS 10.5.8 and HA 9.6.2m
No problem at all on two different machines.
 
Did you try to delete HA and make a new clean intall ?
 
If yes, something must be wrong with your score... But what ?
Can you attach your file ?

Thanks so much for the reply!  This has happened with multiple scores.  The thing the scores I'm working with have in common is that they were created using Photoscore Ultimate v.6 (exported as .xml files) and imported into HA.  There may be something weird about the way it exports.  
 
I've attached the original Photoscore .xml export file of one of the scores.  Edit some lyrics and hopefully you'll be able to replicate the problem.  Or maybe you can take a look at the lyric text and see if something seems weird about it.

No problem with this score !
I modified some words in each voice.
Playing complete score shows no problem.
 
Can you tell me which word you modify and causes the crash ?
