The attachment is a simple example of 4 bars for organ. When I click Graphic Export, the preview shows a blank page (of 16!) What must I do to reduce the graphic to 1 page? Thanks, Tony

It doesn't work on my machine either... Yet, if I copy the notes into a new document, the graphic export is OK. I noticed the document was created on May 10th 2011... Has the format changed since then ?

Oui, mais j'avais déjà essayé de le changer, sans succès.

en centrant les groupes sur la page, avec un zoom de 70, ça s'améliore. Mais il faut fermer le menu impression et recommencer.

I think I finally got it. 1- File>Graphical export... 2- Click on the "options" button 3- set a sensible printing scale (70% instead of 399.99%) 4- Check the "justify groups on the page" box 5- Set the bottom margin to a better value (1 for example) 6- OK

| 3:39am! Couldn't you sleep? Yes; the first results were so poor ("bitty" graphics on a large blank page) that I experimented many times with reducing the page area. on Feb 24th, 2012, 10:18am, jihel9 wrote:le % est à 399.999 |
| Le 96 (même avec des lunettes)? Mea culpa; there are so many controls, I totally missed that. Probably the reason the graphic increased from 5 pages to 16 the same night! Is this another quality control? I tried reducing the staff size from large to medium, then increasing the print scale from 70% to 100%. There was a small improvement in the quality of the imported graphic (still a tiny fraction of a large white area). on Feb 24th, 2012, 11:04am, bubu42 wrote:I think I finally got it. 1- File>Graphical export... 2- Click on the "options" button 3- set a sensible printing scale (70% instead of 399.99%) 4- Check the "justify groups on the page" box 5- Set the bottom margin to a better value (1 for example) 6- OK En plus, je crois que la marge basse et nettement trop grande (10 alors que 1 ou 2 devrait suffire) Et si on ajoute un titre et qu'on le déplace vers le bas, on a un intervalle un peu curieux, comme si les portées avaient été déplacées au-dessus du titre. |
| Justify groups on the page is critical, but do we know what it means for a single group? The bottom margin was set high to try to reduce the large amount of white space in the graphic. I became very confused over the margin settings for the Page and another set of margins for Print Options. I became very, very confused when I eliminated the Footer in Score / Page setup but it was still there in Print Options. I am not always in control of the staff spacing and become confused when I raise a blue line upward and the staff moves downward. I am confused as to why the chord grid is not exported. Should there be a maximum age for purchasers of Harmony Assistant? Thank you very much for your help.

Hello there, There is not realy a maximum age for purchases of Harmony Assistant, but the software is so extensive that it does require a minimum time of use to have seen it all (I don't know how long that time is, but I have been using this software for about eight years and some territory still remains unexplored). I think that the confusion about staff spacing is caused by the fact that it isn't staff spacing, but staff area spacing. When you have defined your staff in a large area (because you need room for dynamics for instance) the the staves will end up further apart than when the staff area is more confined, eventhough the settings in the option window for "minimal distance between groups" is the same. In my experience you have more controle over the layout when you confine yourself to the numerical values in the option window, rather than to move lines manually. It may save you a lot of time if you create a clean, empty score with all the settings that you want and then export that as a model (a template rather) to be used over and over again. You may have to redefine some settings over time, but after a while you will find that you need hardly bother about the layout, as it will almost always come out right automatically. Kind regards, Albert
