| Was it Monsieur Muddle of New Zealand? I had some problems with the tremolo in that, Tremolo, but the Viola-Phil-2 solves my need absolument. Many thanks.

Funny/sad ! I was pleased to see that someone had done a version using the philharmonic viola. I had forgotten it was me ... I am really losing it in old age! It is a bit worrying that people are having trouble with the instruments, but they seem to work on my computer. Anyway, since then I have converted another viola, (attached herewith) which comes from a Sound Font called "florestan string quartet". It has the identical wav files to the soundfont, but I am afraid it does not sound as good, perhaps because of the effects in the sound card. ( The original sound font has been around for years, but surprisingly can come close to the best recent commercial sounds with a bit of work.) Please say if there is any problem with it. These instrument samples have a lot of attack sound in them, so if desired, one could alter the attack to make a fast instrument. Since there are a number of samples to change, the easiest way to do that is to load the myr file attached below, and then change the instrument to the new viola. Then go to the main HA Instrument drop down menu and at the bottom should appear the script >> "force parameters in digital sound" . When you start this the instrument will appear selected in the window. Double click this and the parameters of the instrument will appear in the boxes below. You need only change the first two ( for attack.) Click on the apply button and play tune to hear the result. Even a setting like 444 in each slot will sound at faster speed. One can go as high as desired ... but note , it does have a VERY strong attack sound. Save the result under a different name of course. cheers, David L.

Here's the file to use. It is an imitation of the test of the better libraries, including some 'swoopy' notes. More cheers , Monsieur Muddle

| Thanks for your transmission Result in attachment : it's most probably an interesting contemporary new version... I don't understand any more... My first idea : completing Gold 2 with a real viola sample seems to be always actual... Regards, Christian

Egad!!! curious sound. The problem seems to be that the "viola" file you are using has ended up with only one sample. Which has all the samples mixed into one, together with some other sound. I'm not sure which viola file was originally used, so to test , I downloaded the "slow viola" file and used it in your mvt4 . It played correctly, so I can't quite see how the change in samples occurred. Any suggestions? ... perhaps it was mangled in download somehow? It might sound like that if the whole mui file tried to play as a wav file ( effectively "importing" as a sound rather than an instrument ) cheers . Must sleep here .. Muddle

| I am now awake... and found it : I effectively imported it as a "sound", else a "file MUI" In attachment, a first more acceptable result Thanks Cheers Christian
