Using Virtual Singer on Harmony Assistant, I have a long note with the English word "hour". As this word contains two vowel sounds (i.e. it is a diphthong), how can I control the relative lengths of the first and second vowels? Thanks, David.

I would suggest to use the SAMPA notation, but I'm not sure whether the length  of each vowel can be controlled. Perhaps by duplicating the "A" sound (first vocalic sound of the diphtong) in the SAMPA chain.

I think that Bubu's approach is correct. In addition, for long sounds you may want to be more specific on the sounds themselves (start with "a" or with "O"?)

But look also at the différences between (VS pronunciation of) UK English vs US English. Without any sampa indication, US will shorten the first sound and UK the second one.
